Objective: Develop Reading and Spelling skills, practice Science/Social Studies skills, and practice handwriting.

Activity:

1.      Spelling Introduction – write words in planner from Spelling Webpage – 1st Quarter Week 7.  Begin working on Spelling Sheet.  Put the sheet in the Spelling section of your binder.

2.      Science/S.S. Project::  Biomic Man Introduction @ 10:00

3.      Reading – Predictions for Volcanoes and Vocabulary card definitions (use index cards to write word on front and definition on back).

4.      Handwriting – Handwriting page today.  Keep in Lang. Arts section of your binder.

Q and A; Monitor; Reading Contracts

Activity:       

1.       Math Message – Complete Math Boxes 2.7 MJ page 49

2.      Discuss partial-products method.  Refer to SRB page 19. 

3.      Go over MJ pages 50 and 51 before working independently.

4.      Work on MJ p. 50 and 51.

Objective: Understand Guided Reading Work Time and Activities.

Activity:

1.      Spelling Introduction – Spelling Sheet has to be finished by Thursday. You should have one side completed.  Keep in Spelling section of your binder or in Guided reading folder.

2.      Word Work: Begin working on Making Words sheet Week 7.  When finished put with your weekly reading contract in your guided reading folder.

3.      Reading – Discuss Predictions and Teacher Read A Loud.  Put Prediction paragraph with weekly reading contract in your guided reading folder.

4.      Reading Response – Answer #1 from Generic prompt in Reading Response Journals on your independent book.  Remember to use grading rubric to make sure you answered all parts of the prompt.  Keep in Reading Response Journals.

5.      Language Arts – Singular and Plural Nouns presentation @ 10:00

6.      Science/S.S. Project: Biomic Man

7.      Typing – Complete a typing lesson by practicing your keyboarding skills.  Go to my language arts site and then to Keyboarding.

2.      Discussion – Lattice method.  Refer to SRB page 20 and 40.

3.      Complete #1 and #4 together on page MJ page 53.

4.      Work on MJ page 53.

5.      Spelling: Spelling Sheet has to be finished by Thursday. You should have 1 1/2 sides completed.

6.      Handwriting: Handwriting Packet – At least 1 page should be complete by today.
