Objective: Discuss social skill and procedures of the day; Practice working together as a group.

3.      Go over Social Skill of the week.

Writing

Objective: Develop and practice writing skills.

Activities:                                                                 

  1. Snippet Journal – If you had lived during the Colonial Era, would you be a colonist or a supporter of Britain?  If you were a colonist, would you choose to play a part in the decision of trying to obtain independence and even fight against the British Army?  If you chose to be a British supporter, would you travel to the colonies to fight for the British government or remain in Britain and support the King?  Describe your life as a person in the role you chose.  Be sure to write multiple paragraphs and explain your choice.

1.      History Alive Vocabulary  - Complete a vocabulary word map on the following terms: Loyalist, Patriot, neutralist, and independence.

2.      History Alive – Read Introduction to Chapter 11 (11.1 and 11.2)

3.      Discuss Loyalist vs. Patriots (show SMART Notebook chart)

4.      Complete Reading Notes 11 comparing Loyalist and Patriots after reading Section 11.3 to 11.8.

5.      National Geographic – Read Making Faces Article together and then complete activity sheet and go over.
