b.      Teaching Point – We have discussed that personal narratives include people, places and objects.  Now, as good writers know they have to focus and be specific, or Zooming In and leaving out details that don’t matter.

c.      Demonstration – Use an example such as one time at the beach.

  1. Conference/Small Group/Independent Work Time:

a.      Students practice thinking of an event and then Zooming In on a particular detail of that event in their snippet journals.
