Objective: Students will write two
paragraphs explaining the problem and solution using complete sentences using
their independent books. Procedure: Mini-lesson 1:15-1:25 1. Briefly review with
student’s problem and solution using several previous books as examples.
Discuss with students the problems the characters may have faced. Review the
problem and solution chart for the book Hatchet. Review with students
how we can take the information from the chart to complete paragraphs.
Demonstrate a brief paragraph with students using the chart. Have students
complete their own paragraphs from the charts in their journals. Work Time 1:25-2:00 1.
